  1. TITLE:   CHARMAP Macro Does Not Display Character Map Grid

  7. The CHARMAP macro adds the "Special Characters" menu item to Edit / Insert, 
  8. but choosing the option does not display the character map grid from which a 
  9. character can be selected.

  11. SOLUTION: 
  12.  
  13. The CHARMAP macro that ships with Ami Pro 3.0 requires that something be 
  14. present in the clipboard in order for the character map grid to display.  A 
  15. modified CHARMAP macro which corrects this problem is available from Lotus.  
  16. The macro is available electronically from the Lotus WP bulletin board at 404-
  17. 395-7707 or from library 3 [Ami Pro Macros] on the LotusWP CompuServe forum.  
  18. Download the file CHRMAP.EXE from either location. The macro is also available 
  19. on disk from the Lotus WPD Customer Service Department at 404-399-5505.  
  20. Request the macros disk.  This disk contains all updated macros for Ami Pro 
  21. 3.0.

  23. Until you receive the modified macro, select (shade) any text and choose Edit 
  24. / Copy to copy it to the Clipboard, then run the CHARMAP.SMM macro.  With 
  25. contents in the Clipboard the character map grid appears after choosing Edit / 
  26. Special Characters.

  28. HOW TO INSTALL THE MODIFIED CHARMAP MACRO
  29.  1. In the Windows Program Manager, load the File Manager.
  30.  2. Copy the file CHARMAP.SMM (contained in the self-extracting file 
  31.     CHRMAP.EXE) or if you obtained the macros disk, copy all files on the disk 
  32.     to the Ami Pro macros directory (this is usually C:\AMIPRO\MACROS).
  33.  3. Press ALT + F4 to close the File Manager.
